Senior Project Manager
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality project outcomes by managing multiple, concurrent projects from inception to close-out across various business units. These projects may involve business and/or information technology initiatives. The role ensures that project goals and objectives align with broader business strategies, are completed on schedule and within budget, and meet all agreed-upon business requirements and specifications.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the internal project leader on complex strategic projects requiring collaboration across multiple teams and departments.
- Develop and execute resource plans, calculate project costs and ROI, and assess the long-term viability of initiatives.
- Work closely with stakeholders, including executives, business teams, and operational partners, to define project scope, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Collaborate with technology teams to document and fulfill technical requirements as needed.
- Produce essential project documentation, including business cases, charters, communication plans, RACIs, business requirements, project schedules, resource plans, status reports, change requests, risk and issue logs, meeting agendas, and minutes.
- Identify, assess, and facilitate resolutions for risks and issues to ensure project success.
- Identify dependencies and critical paths across internal and external teams.
- Oversee test plan development and execution for QA and User Acceptance Testing.
- Manage all Change Management activities required for solution implementation.
- Prepare reports for leadership detailing project status and financials.
- Collaborate with external service providers to optimize processes and ensure business needs and SLAs are met.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in project management.
- Support the initiation, planning, and rollout of strategic initiatives while assisting in governance and project management process development.
- Lead and/or provide administrative support at project portfolio review meetings.
- Assist team members as needed to ensure successful project execution.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Education:
- 8 to 10 years of project management experience in IT or a related field.
- Experience in professional services environments is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage external service providers in delivering business technology solutions.
- Experience working with Project Portfolio Management tools (ServiceNow SPM preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Strong attention to detail with excellent interpersonal skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to navigate shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical problem-solving.
- Ability to understand business needs and ensure solutions align with objectives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to handle interactions diplomatically and professionally.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred; PMP certification is a plus.
